Jeff Vacirca, MD
Jeffrey Vacirca, MD, FACP is a board certified hematologist & oncologist at New York Cancer Specialists in East Setauket, New York where he serves as CEO and managing partner/director of clinical research. His specialties include breast cancer, prostate cancer, and complicated cancers.
Currently, Dr. Vacirca is the president of the Community Oncology Alliance (COA), the strategic advisor and medical director for Amerisource Bergen specialty group, and is on the Excel Advisory Panel to the International Oncology Network. He has been the recipient of the Theodore Roosevelt award for outstanding dedication to patient care and has been named in Newsday’s Top Doctors. He serves as the president of Mather Memorial Hospital’s PHO and sits on the hospital’s Breast Cancer Leadership Committee as well as chairman for the Managed Care Committee for Long Island Health Network PHO. Dr Vacirca is the co-founder and president for National Translational Research group and holds a position for Caris Life Sciences as a Scientific Advisory Board Member, and is the medical director for LIAC Long Island Aids Care. He recently expanded his efforts to serve as a medical board advisor for Flatiron Health, located in New York City. Additionally, he is the vice chairman of the board for Odonate Therapeutics.
Dr. Vacirca received his medical degree from St. George’s University. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine, followed by a fellowship in hematology and medical oncology at Stony Brook University Hospital. In his final year of training, he was appointed to Chief Fellow.
His academic appointments include Assistant Professor of Medicine at Stony Brook University Hospital.
Dr. Vacirca has authored numerous articles on cancer treatment, has been appointed as a national speaker for breast and prostate cancers, and has published multiple research studies on a wide range of cancers. He has implemented the Prostate Cancer Vaccine Therapy Center on Long Island, New York.
