COA board member Debra Patt, MD, MPH, MBA, Vice President, Texas Oncology, Medical Director, The US Oncology Network, Chair, Clinical Practice Committee American Society of Clinical Oncology, Editor and Chief Journal of Clinical Oncology – Clinical Cancer Informatics, testified before the United States House Committee on Energy and Commerce regarding the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) proposed experiment on Medicare Part B drug reimbursement.

Dr. Patt relayed the oncology community’s “grave concerns” with the CMS Medicare Part B experiment. Calling the CMS experiment “bad medicine for patients,” she provided a real world physician’s perspective on why the experiment is simply unworkable in cancer care and unethical clinical research being conducted without patient consent.
